4th of July Oreo ice cream cake

4th of July oreo ice-cream cake 3It seems like yesterday I was complaining it’s snowing in April and I still have the heat on in May and here we are, almost at the end of June. Another twist and it’s 4th of July.

And I’m all prepared for it! I’ve found the easiest way to celebrate it with only 2 ingredients! Or 3 if you count the sprinkles as well. Oreos and ice cream – 4th of July Oreo ice cream cake

Yes, it’s not baked, and yes, I bought both the ice cream and the oreos – it happens. But, to my defense it’s not just any Oreos – I’m talking this summer’s limited edition

Summer Oreo cookies 2

And guess what? They make the perfect 4th of July dessert since they have blue, white and red.

And today’s recipes, it’s just exactly a recipe. It’s something I put together in 5 minutes and called it 4th of July Oreo ice cream cake. Actually it took me longer to take the pictures than to assemble the cake. And as you can tell, I’m not good at photographing ice-cream.

4th of July Oreo ice-cream cake recipe

Probably one of the easiest cake with only 3 ingredients if I count the sprinkles as well, but oh, so delicious!

  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1 pint ice-cream
  • sprinkles

  1. Line a 4 inch cake pan with plastic wrap.
  2. On the bottom of the pan line 4 oreo cookies.
  3. Scoop half of the ice-cream over the oreo cookies, pressing with the back of the spoon to level it.
  4. Add 4 more oreo cookies and cover with the rest of ice-cream.
  5. Cover with the 4 remaining Oreo cookies, pressing them lightly into the ice-cream layer.
  6. Wrap everything in plastic and freeze for a couple of hours or overnight.
  7. Remove from the cake pan and peel the plastic wrap.
  8. Top with sprinkles, if using.
  9. Cut and enjoy!

Thank you for a chance to win an Amazon gift card. I would absolutely purchase a small ice cream maker for my husband. He loves ice cream. His birthday is coming up and that is the only thing he has hinted for for the last month or so. Again, thank you and love your blog.

If I was lucky enough to win it would go towards a stand mixer because the arthritis in my hands means I can no longer cream and mix by hand x

Roxana, you made the 4th of July a celebration with this dessert! No lengthy kitchen time required, ahhhhh…. As for what I’d buy on Amazon, I’d be perfectly happy shopping my way thru their Grocery & Gourmet Food section — but an ice cream maker sounds good, too. Thanks!

  18. Katelin Klug says

I love ice cream, and Oreos! This would be very dangerous to me :) I’ve heard you can make I’ve cream with your kitchen aid machine, so I would buy one of those!
