Everyone deserves a special treat on their birthday and this over-the-top vanilla bean cake topped with piles of fluffy vanilla bean frosting and colorful sprinkles makes your day extra special!

When asked what cake she would like for her birthday, Tiffany quickly replied – a colorful one! Of course! As if I had other options, but it was nice to ask her before dusting the round cake pans, which I don’t really use that often.

They are on the highest shelf in the cupboard. It requires me to get the step-stool, stretch my arms as much as I can and get the pans out. I swear, the previous owners must have been at least 6feet tall. Half of my cupboards store stuff I use only once or twice a year because it’s so hard to get them out and put them back in.

Anyhow, back to this lovely vanilla bean cake I made for my daughter’s birthday! You gotta have a sprinkle loaded cake for your kids birthday, and actually for any party.

No matter how old are you, a bite into a sprinkles loaded cake is sure to put a smile on your face. …

One pot meals are by far my favorite dinners. The thought of having just one pot to wash when I’m done is music to my ears.

I don’t know about you, but no matter how many times I run the dishwasher (most days twice a day, I may add) there’s always at least one dirty dish in the sink. It probably doesn’t help that I’m a food blogger and it’s my job to make a completely out-of-this-world mess in the kitchen every single day. I really love that part, cleaning the mess … my least favorite. Where’s that magic wand when you need it?

Anyhow, back to one pot meals, don’t they seem magical? Not only is it easier to only have to clean one pot, but one pot dinners are also easy recipes that are perfect for busy families.

Between after school activities, checking on homework and taking take of the house, aren’t one pot dinners your go-to meals? And, my friends, this beer braised beef with carrots and potatoes fits the bill!…

I love pairing chocolate and strawberry together and these easy to make Triscuit cracker bites make a great snack when you're craving something sweet and salty.

I’m a snack person. Mid morning, late afternoon or just before bedtime, you’ll find me snacking. Sometimes sweets, sometimes savory bites. It’s just who I am and no matter how much I try not to reach for that snack just before dinner time I can’t help myself.

It’s what keeps me going, especially on days when I don’t really have time to sit down 30 minutes or so to enjoy a meal.  A little cheese, some fresh or dried fruit, smoked salmon and herbs, small-cut veggies. Depending on the days and my cravings, you’ll find me stacking a few on top of a Triscuit cracker….

Buttery cookie base, a layer of decadent smooth caramel and a rich chocolate ganache - this homemade version of the well known Twix® bars comes together in less than 1 hour and makes enough to feed a crowd!

I’m the mom that goes through the kid’s Halloween candy as soon as we get home. Tiffany eats candy, but for her it’s all about going treat or tricking with her friends. For me, it’s all about the candy.

More than half of the candy we receive gets immediately tossed into the “emergency drawer”, you know, te one that holds the candy you don’t like and you reach out to it when there’s absolutely no other sweet in the house. (mostly my husband does so, as I do have a secret candy stash).

Twix is one of my favorite candy bars. The fun size ones are perfect to sneak in your pockets and snack on throughout the day.  Don’t tell me I’m the only one!

Actually I’m sure I’m not the only one who likes candy. Knowing how successful my 30-minute homemade version of the Snickers bars are, you’re clearly on the same page.

Obviously, it was just a matter of time until I shared another quick and easy version of store-bought candy bars – today we’re talking Twix! …
