Fudge easy to make one bowl cocoa brownies baked with ooey gooey Cadburry Eggs to put you in a holiday mood

Halloween is my least favorite holiday. The only thing I love about Halloween is the candy part. For me Halloween is the perfect excuse to buy bags and bags of candy without having the cashier looking at me confused. There’s no shopping trip without returning home with at least one bag of candy. I have so many candy bags I could open my candy store. Wish I was kidding. This girl is addicted to the candy isle.

As you probably know candy has been used in lots of threats around here. You can check some of the recipes I previously shared on Roxana’s home baking in a round-up I put together earlier this month.

It should come to no surprise when I saw the Halloween version of the well know Cadbury creme eggs I wanted to use them in a recipe. Something similar with the Cadbury creme egg brownies I shared at Easter but different.

I have seen a few Cadbury brownie recipes where the creme egg is halved and baked in the brownie batter so I told myself  “you better start practicing, Easter is few months away”

So I cut a few of the Cadbury eggs along the crease. Some I left them whole and start experimenting The whole ones while baking were almost covered by the brownie batter while the halved ones were slightly spreading on top of the brownie and the fondant inside them got a little over-baked, especially the ones close to the edges.

If I have to choose  taste I would definitely go with the ones that had the eggs baked inside, but if I have to choose pretty I would pick the ones with the half egg baked on top. (that because the half eggs were slightly overbaked). Below is the adapted recipe for Cadbury brownies to make them taste amazing and look picture perfect!

  9. Remove from the oven and let rest at room temperature until cold.
  10. Using the ganging paper, remove from the pan and cut into bars.
  11. If you prefer the eggs baked on top of the brownie
  12. Once the brownie batter is poured into the prepared pan, place the pan in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  13. Quickly remove the pan from the oven, without turning the oven off, and gently press in the halved eggs.
  14. Place the brownie pan back into the oven and bake for 5 more minutes.
  15. Remove from the oven and let rest at room temperature for few hours.
  16. With the help of the hanging paper, remove the brownies from the pan and cut them into bars.

You are so funny Roxana, you make me laugh. But these brownies almost make me cry they look so good! What a wonderful idea. I haven’t seen the Cadbury eggs this season but am glad to find out about them. Dangerous.
